These adjustments to the MAGIC used for Transformation take an investment of time, money and most importantly commitment. How much time, money and commitment is required, is a function of the current Transformational Complexity that exists.

The higher the current level of Transformational Complexity it is being adopted to deal with, the higher the initial investment of time and money and will, will be. This is due to a negative feedback effect. When The Architecture Paradigm™ is not used, any changes made tend to increase the Structural Complexity of the thing being changed, not because it needs to be that complex, but because of a lack of knowledge about the thing being changed. This negative feedback loop is cumulative and can run out of control as the rule of compound interest takes over. The cost of understanding and sorting out the Structural Complexity rises each time another change is made meaning each time there is an opportunity to make the changes necessary to be able to use The Architecture Paradigm™, the appetite for doing so, the will, reduces. This is a downward spiral into oblivion.

Keypoint

Adopt this component by...

As the need to utilise Architecture increases, the appetite to do so will decrease.

C-Suite: Recognise that as the need to adopt The Architecture Paradigm™ increases, the appetite (and therefore commitment) to do so, decreases.

Questions to ponder...

Where is your Enterprise on this graph?

Where will it be in the next one, three, five years?

What will you do then? What will you do now to prepare for then?
